IBUTAMOREN ORAL SECRETAGOGUE THERAPY
Ibutamoren is an oral growth hormone peptide. Clinical studies have shown that ibutamoren has positive effects on the body, due to the increase of natural growth hormone (GH) levels.
The health benefits of ibutamoren include:
- Increasing muscle mass
- Boosting energy
- Improved sleep
- Increased bone density
- Increased growth hormone levels
- Boosted metabolism
- Promoting leanness
- Decreasing body fat
Ibutamoren is a growth hormone secretagogue, which means it stimulates the natural release stored growth hormone to the body for use. By stimulating the pituitary gland, the body increases production of its own growth hormone. As a result, the body has an improved ability to repair and rejuvenate, which slows down the aging process, decreases body fat, and increases muscle density. Peptide therapy has a “loading” period of 3-6 months before full effects are noticed and can be used indefinitely with little to no side-effects.
Ibutamoren is orally administered, which makes it unique from other secretagoues prescribed by TeleWellnessMD providers, such as Sermorelin, Ipamorelin, GHRP2, or GHRP6, which are all administered by injection and cannot be absorbed orally.
Ibutamoren is active longer than other injectable secretagogues, such as GHRP 2 or GHRP 6. Ibutamoren requires a once daily dose at bedtime and remains active for roughly 24 hours, whereas GH levels remain elevated for only 90 minutes after administering a GHRP-2 or GHRP-6 shot.
One clinical study showed that ibutamoren can be more effective the longer it is taken. The study measured IGF-1 levels in the blood, which is a great way to measure growth hormone levels in the body indirectly. The study results showed the following increases in IGF-1 levels:
- At 2 weeks, subjects had an increase of 30% in IGF-1 levels
- At 6 months, subjects had an increase of 60% in IGF-1 levels
- At 12 months, subjects had an increase of 72% in IGF-1 levels
Like some of its injectable secretagouge cousins, GHRP2 and GHRP6, ibutamoren also causes an increase in the hormone that stimulates hunger, ghrelin. Although ibutamoren can cause an increase in hunger, typically ibutamoren use increases calorie deposition into the muscle instead of fat (due to the accompanied increase of the growth hormone) This hunger side effect tends to lessen when ibutamoren is taken at bedtime or with a large meal. RiverFRont MD Recommends following a protocol where Ibutamoren is used in conjunction with either intermittent fasting or using Ibutamoren with one of the larger meals toward the end of the day.
Ibutamoren can also help people who have difficulty sleeping. It has been shown to increase the amount of time spent in stage 4 deep sleep by 50%, as well as REM sleep by 20%. The more time spent in the deep sleep the more recovery and repair the body can accomplish. Many scientists believe REM sleep plays an important role in cognitive functioning and our overall mental health and wellbeing, hence more time spent in the REM cycle can also be beneficial.
Other health benefits of increasing growth hormone include: increased bone density, improved completion, increased energy, lower cholesterol, increased strength, increased lean muscle and decreased body fat.
Ibutamoren can be used in conjunction with other injectable secretagogues such as sermorelin, GHRP 2 and GHRP 6 for an even greater effect.
